AKIPRESS.COM - Power plants account for 14-15% of the smog, according to the Chairman of the State Environmental and Technical Safety Inspectorate Joldoshbek Junushev.
Motor cars account for the most of the pollution, said Junushev in response to MP Marlan Mamataliyev's question about how his agency was going to tackle air pollution in the heating season.
"It's not a task that can be solved in 1-2 days, a program for 10-15 years is necessary," said Junushev.
To tackle air pollution in Bishkek, the mayor's office is acquiring the gas buses to replace diesel fueled ones.
He added that no smog is expected this year over Bishkek.
