AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan started working out a strategy of low-carbon development until 2025, Minister Magzum Mirzagaliyev said at the session of the government on Tuesday.
Kazakhstan ratified the Paris Agreement pledging to reduce greenhouse emmissions by 15% until 2030, according to him.
The Ministry plans to switchover from using coal to renewable energy sources, which leads to reduction of emmissions and production wastes.
The key factor of transition to the low-carbon developiment of Kazakhstan will be developiment of renewable and alternative energy sources.
Implementation of the stategy will facilitate reduction of greenhouse gas emmissions, which helps to meet the conditions of the Paris Agreement by 2030, the Minister added.
