Astana LRT project case brings more than 1 billion tenge cost to Kazakh budget

AKIPRESS.COM - The volume of damage from embezzlement of funds for the Astana LRT project amounted to more than 1 billion tenge, head of the second department of the anti-corruption service Sergey Perov told on Thursday, Sputnik Kazakhstan said. "Investigation is underway. Some checks are coming to the end. The amount of damage increased up to more than 1 billion tenge. As of today, 6 people are suspected in this case including 4 former officials from the Nur-Sultan mayor's office," Perov noted.
No suspect has been yet detained, he added.
All investigation works will be finished within 3 months, according to Perov.
