Kazakhstan mulls ban on parole for those convicted of corruption

AKIPRESS.COM - Chairman of the anti-corruption service of Kazakhstan Alik Shpekbayev proposed to prohibit early release of officials convicted of corruption, Zakon.kz reported.
The service offers to tighten punishment for corruption committed by judges and law enforcement officers and restrict the parole on large scale corruption charges.
According to the reports, the anti-corruption service registered 1,121 crimes, including 1,590 corruptions, since the beginning of 2019.
Shpekbayev noted that most of crimes are fraud, embezzlement and power abuse by officials.
