AKIPRESS.COM - A citizen of Kyrgyzstan Asylbek Karimov who has earlier been detained in Tajikistan was returned to Kyrgyzstan on November 1, the National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan said.
The man was handed over to Kyrgyzstan following the negotiations between the border authorities of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
As a result of talks, the citizen of Kyrgyzstan was exempt from paying the fine for violation of border laws of Tajikistan and handed over to Kyrgyzstan.
He was reunited with his relatives.
Asylbek Karimov went missing on October 24 after he went to the bazaar in the village of Charku, Tajikistan, around 10:00 a.m. Later, the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan said he was detained in Tajikistan for trespassing.
Upon his arrival at home, Asylbek Karimov said that he was detained by Tajik authorities at the bazaar, beaten up and tortured for 10 days.
