Bishkek suggested to be renamed after Turdakun Usubaliyev

AKIPRESS.COM - Honored builder of Kyrgyzstan Asan Davletov was outraged by the level of celebration of the 100th jubilee of Turdakun Usubaliyev on November 4.
"Why the events dedicated to the 100th jubilee of Turdakun Usubaliyev are held in such a small hall, whereas such event was supposed to gather half a population of Kyrgyzstan," he said at the event dedicated to the jubilee of First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan.
"Is there any government representative here? None. Why is the jubilee of such an outstanding person like Turdakun Usubaliyev is being held not on the governmental level? Don't name a street after Usubaliyev, name the capital after him," he said.
He brought an example of renaming Astana into Nur-Sultan after ex-president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
He asked to back his suggestion and the hall applauded him.
The solemn event dedicated to the 100th jubilee of statesman Turdakun Usubaliyev was held on November 4 in the National Philharmonic Hall. On November 6, Usubaliyev would turn 100 years old.
