AKIPRESS.COM - Deputy Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Kamola Akilova suggested development of standard scenario for weddings and celebrations drawing on traditional values and modern aspects, CA-News reports. The Deputy Minister said the Concert and Entertainment Institutions Department under the Ministry of Culture and Uzbekconcert already started working on formulation of rules for weddings.
In September 2019, the councils of the chambers of the Parliament of Uzbekistan approved the order of holding weddings, anniversary, funeral rites, family ceremonies.
Except for funerals, all family ceremonies and events should be held for one day from 6.00 am to 11.00 pm. Up to 200 people can be invited for family events, up to 250 for weddings.
Funerals can not last longer than 3 days.
Citizens holding wedding should notify local self-government body at least one week before the event.
Wedding motorcades should not include more than 3 cars.
The new rules enter into fore since January 1, 2020.
Violation of rules will lead to the fine varying from $230 to $1,170.
