Uzbekistan to present its textile industry achievements in EU

AKIPRESS.COM - The delegation of Uzbekistan led by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Adham Ikramov will visit Belgium and the Netherlands on November 5-9.
The delegation will include Minister of Employment and Labor Relations Nozim Husanov, Uzbek Textile Industry Association Chairman Ilhom Haidarov, Vice Chairman of Council of Trade Union Federations Bahtiyor Mahmadaliev, managers of several textile companies.
The main aim of the visit is participation in the round table on import of clothing to the European Union, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.
Uzbek officials will present the information on measures undertaken in development of textile industry and production of high-quality garments. A special attention will be paid to eradication of child and forced labor in cotton harvesting.
Representatives of the European Commission, International Labor Organization, global importers of textile products, human rights defenders, experts and researchers are expected to attend the event.
The delegation of Uzbekistan will hold bilateral meetings with officials of Belgium and the Netherlands.
