Kazakhstani children can return from Iraq in November

AKIPRESS.COM - The Kazakh children can return to their homeland in November, spokesman of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan Aibek Smadiyarov said, Zakon.kz reports.
"As you know, we have recently announced that the process on repatriating the Kazakhstani children from Iraq is ongoing. Their mothers were convicted and are in prisons. And children have to be with their mothers. Their relatives asked to help in returning them to Kazakhstan. The MFA made every effort through diplomatic channels in cooperation with the Iraqi authorities to prepare operation on returning children home. I think that the operation will be carried out within this month. I can't tell the exact date, as there are many state bodies involved in the operation," Smadiyarov noted.
Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi in October speaking at the OSCE roundtable discussion on Afghanistan in Nur-Sultan reported that Kazakhstan plans to repatriate 14 children of women convicted for life prison in Iraq.
