Group of British journalists to visit Uzbekistan’s attraction spots

AKIPRESS.COM - Ambassador of Uzbekistan to UK Said Rustamov attended the Ministerial Summit organized by the UN World Tourism Organization at the World Travel Market 2019 fair, where he met UNWTO Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili.
Organization of the 65th meeting of the UNWTO Regional Commission for Europe in Samarkand in June 2020 was discussed at the meeting.
The event was initiated by Uzbekistan in May 19. It is aimed to attract international attention to Uzbekistan as one of promising tourist destinations.
Ambassador Rustamov also held talks with Ambassador of Uzbekistan's tourism brand in UK Sophie Ibbotson to discuss ways to bring more tourists from Britain to Uzbekistan.
Sophie Ibbotson said she plans to bring a group of journalists to Uzbekistan, who publish articles in such editions as The Independent, The Telegraph, Culture Trip, The Courier, Daily Mail, etc.
A series of publications will be made about tourist attraction spots in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.
Sophie Ibbotson is founder and Director of Maximum Exposure consulting firm. She is also the author of articles and travel guides about Uzbekistan, its history, culture and traditions in foreign media and social networks. She has been working with Uzbekistan for more than 10 years. With her support, Uzbekistan has won a number of prestigious awards of specialized British media in tourism.
