AKIPRESS.COM - President Sooronbai Jeenbekov today has congratulated Kyrgyzstanis with the Day of History and Commemoration of Ancestors. "On these days we remember the important pages of our history, pay tribute to our ancestors," the President said.
"Our grandfathers having passed through difficult testaments left history to us we are proud of. In the middle ages they created the Kyrgyz state, but then they lost it and faced hard testaments of history," the President said.
"Risking their lives, they kept the idea of statehood in their hearts and tirelessly struggle for freedom," the President went on saying.
Our fathers survived the Mass Flight Urkun, 1917 October Revolution.
"Thanks to the decisive fight of outstanding statesmen of the Soviet epoch the Kara-Kirghiz Autonomous Region was established in 1924 as part of the Russian Soviet Federation of Socialist Republics. In 1936 it was then transformed into Kirghiz Soviet Socialist Republic," the President reminded.
Those pivotal transformations were paid by lives of prominent sons of the Motherland who became victims of political repressions.
"In 1991, the centuries-old dream of our people has come true, we gained sovereignty again," the President said.
"Today we feel historic responsibility for the future of or state. History shows unity of our people is above all, there is nothing more valuable than the home country. We should guard our home country and pass the developed country to the next generations," the President urged.
"Keeping ethnic and religious diversity, consolidating integrity of people, we will build a prosperous Kyrgyzstan!" the President said.
