Kyrgyzstan condemns attack on Tajik border outpost

AKIPRESS.COM - Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov held a phone conversation with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin on November 6, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said. Foreign Minister Aidarbekov expressed concerns over attack on the border outpost on the Tajik-Uzbek border leaving 2 Tajik border and security officers dead.
The Kyrgyz side condemns such acts and expresses strong support to joint efforts of the countries of the region to ensure regional security.
The Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan offered condolences to the families of the killed officers of Tajikistan.
The group of 20 armed militants attacked the border outpost on the Tajik-Uzbek border in early hours of November 6. 15 gunmen were killed, 5 were seized. One border guard and police officer were killed in the shootout.
