Activists plan to organize national referendum in Nur-Sultan

AKIPRESS.COM - A group of activists, including members of the initiative group, which will have to prepare the necessary documents and submit them to the Central Election Commission for holding the national referendum on amendments to the elections and political parties gathered in Nur-Sultan, Vlast.kz reports.
The meeting on national referendum was attended by about 300 people. According to the public activist Zauresh Battalova, the mein issues activists want to raise are amendments to the electoral legislation and the law on political parties.
The initiative group of minimum three people from each region has been selected during the session. This group will make a list of issues that will be proposed for the referendum, prepare all necessary documents and submit to the CEC.
The deadline for filing application to the CEC is not established. The initiative group will try to make it in the nearest future, the activist said.
One of the goals of the referendum is to inivite the authorities to the dialogue, another activist noted.
