Tajikistan establishes diplomatic ties with Barbados

AKIPRESS.COM - Tajikistan has established diplomatic relations with Barbados. A ceremony of signing of a joint statement on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries has been signed in New York. The Tajik Foreign Ministry reported that the document was inked by Tajikistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mahmadamim Mahmadaminov and the Permanent Representative of Barbados to the United Nations Ms. Elizabeth Thompson.
Barbados is the 53rd richest country in the world in terms of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) per capita, has a well-developed mixed economy, and a moderately high standard of living. Barbados reportedly maintains the third largest stock exchange in the Caribbean region.
According to data from the Tajik Foreign Ministry, Tajikistan has established diplomatic relations with 173 countries of the world by August this year.
