AKIPRESS.COM - The street named after ex-Interior Minister Kongantiyev in police town was renamed, said the head of the Kok-Jar village council Edil Jumaliyev on Nov 11. Previously, it was reported that one of the streets in the police town in Alamedin district was named after ex-Interior Minister Moldomusa Kongantiyev.
Jumaliyev said that on Nov 1,2019 the Kok-Jar village council canceled the decree from Oct 5, 2018 on assigning the name of Moldomusa Kongantiyev to the street.
"The assigning the name of Kongantiyev to street caused public outrage in the social media, so locals raised initiative and filed a request to cancel decree of 2018. The proposed to rename the street to Muras. New decree was adopted on Nov 1," said Jumaliyev.
