AKIPRESS.COM - "Our main aim is to turn Central Asia into a stable and economically developed region, the region of peace and cooperation," President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said in his address to the participants of the 10th Asian Conference of Valdai Discussion Club. The 10th Asian Conference of the Valdai Discussion Club "Central Asia and Eurasia: Multilateral Cooperation amid Global Disorder Challenges" was held in Samarkand on November 10-11.
"The Russian Federation is a reliable strategic partner and ally of Uzbekistan. Our relations built upon historic bonds of friendship are developing intensively and are enriched with new practical content," the President of Uzbekistan said.
Over 80 experts from Russia, China, Germany, Japan, Sweden, India, Philippines, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan took part in the conference organized by the Strategic and International Studies Institute under the President of Uzbekistan.
The cooperation agreement between the Strategic and Interregional Studies Institute and the International Valdai Discussion Club Development and Support Foundation was signed.
The Valdai Discussion Club was set up in 2004 in Novgorod. It is seen as an international forum of pro-Russian experts.
The Asian Conference of the Valdai Discussion Club is held annually in different cities and countries. The previous Asian Conference was held on November 21-22 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
