Mongolia to satisfy domestic demand in popato at 100% this year

AKIPRESS.COM - As Mongolia imports 20-25 thousand tons of fruit and vegetables annually, the government was tasked to satisfy 10% of demand by the national farmers by 2030. Only 7-8% of domestic demands are satisfied at the expense of imported products today. This year 189,000 tons of potato and 90,800 tons of vegetables were collected in Mongolia. The country satisfies its domestic demands at 100% this year.
During the conference in Ulaanbaatar, farmers said they need funds with low interest rates for construction of greenhouses for growing fruit and vegetables during winter season.
Today 92% of all fruit and vegetables make sandthorn, 4.5% - black current and 3.2% - others.
