President Jeenbekov sacks General Consul of Kyrgyzstan in Istanbul

AKIPRESS.COM - Erkin Sopokov has been dismissed from the post of the Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Istanbul.
The respective order was signed by President Jeenbekov, the president's press service said today.
It was reported earlier that the jeep Range Rover with consular plates 34 CC 2092 was found at the scene of the murder of businessman Aierken Saimaiti in Istanbul, who was involved into withdrawal of $700 million from Kyrgyzstan.
AKIpress asked the Foreign Ministry to confirm whether the car belonged to Consul Erkin Sopokov, the Foreign Ministry said it sent an inquiry to the Consulate General and have not received an answer yet.
