AKIPRESS.COM - To lay the pipe for fuel smuggling from Kazakhstan was impossible without people in uniform, MP Azamat Arapbayev (SDPK) said on November 12 during the session of the parliamentary committee on economic and fiscal policy. According to him, this type of crime scheme could not be implemented without the support of the law enforcement bodies.
The state service for fight against economic crimes revealed illegal gasoline transportation activities last month.
A crime group engaged in fuel smuggling from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan was uncovered in Ken-Bulun village, Alamudun district. A pipe stretching over 3 km was buried underground for smuggling of fuel in the amount of approximately 100 tons a day.
Additionally, a base for storage of smuggled fuel was uncovered. The base had fuel and lubricants tanks, pumps, and other equipment necessary for smuggling.
