Environmental Protection Agency of Kyrgyzstan discusses cooperation with World Bank representatives

AKIPRESS.COM - Director of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry of Kyrgyzstan Mirslav Amankulov received the World Bank mission headed by Drita Dade.
The sides discussed implementation of the project "Integrated forest ecosystem management in Kyrgyzstan".
The goal of the project is strengthening potential of the state bodies and communities for improvement of sustainable management of forest ecosystems through investing in the planning of management, rehabilitation of ecosystem and infrastructure. The total cost of the project is $16.11 million. The implementation period is until 2021.
Amankulov said that the project is successfully being implemented and a lot of work has been done.
He also thanked the international partners for support in strengthening material and technical base of the forest sector within the given project.
The Global Environmental Fund and the World Bank this November handed over some new equipment, modern special machinery worth 69 million 969 thousand 100 som to Kyrgyzstan within the project.
