Government plans to decrease number of subsidized village councils

AKIPRESS.COM - The government is working on decreasing a number of subsidized village councils, said government on Nov 13. 18% out of the total number of local governance bodies are self-supporting.
It is planned to bring income tax deductions to 100% in support of the local budget in order to increase yield increase of local budgets for 2019-2021.
The amount of income tax received by local budgets increased by 1.5 times compared to the previous period of 2018. The local budgets will receive an additional 2.1 billion soms in 2019 due to the redistribution of income tax 70/30, the government said.
The government believes that these measures will allow t resolve the issue of strengthening of financial-economic basis of local governance bodies.
Work to develop the social infrastructure of the regions in underway. 231 projects are currently being implemented for 3 million soms.
Jalal-Abad region is leading in the development of resources stimulating grants with 57 projects and Talas is in the last place with 16 projects, said statement.
