Government considers proposal to create corporation from all state media

AKIPRESS.COM - The government is considering the proposal to create a corporation from state media, said Vice PM Altynai Omurbekova at the parliament meeting on nov 14. MP Dastan Bekeshev said that lawmakers proposed to cut expenditures for media.
"This year, 40 million soms were allocated to Piramida LLC TV channel and 5th channel. You plan to allocate $10.5 million next year for media, including 22 million soms to Kabar channel, 522 million soms for state TV channel, 80 million soms for journals, newspapers and regional TV broadcast. We need to cut expenses," he said.
Omurbekova replied that currently, the work on establishment of media centers is underway. "We will create media center in the regions and will optimize the regional media," she said.
Vice PM added that a proposal to create a corporation is under consideration.
