AKIPRESS.COM - Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Erlan Dosayev commented on the future of Almaty as a financial center of Kazakhstan after relocation of the financial regulator, Zakon.kz reports.
According to him, even if the National Bank of the country is moved from Almaty to Nur-Sultan, the most populated metrapolis of Kazakhstan (Almaty) will not lose its status of the financial center of Kazakhstan.
Other financial institutions will remain in Almaty, he noted.
Dosayev also said that the supernational body on regulation of the general financial markets of the EAEU countries will be created in Almaty from 2025.
The Chief of the regulator also informed that the International Monetary Fund has recently decided to create a technical regional center for 9 countries of Central Asia, Caucasus and Mongolia, which will be also located in Almaty.
