Parliament seeks to make non-payment of alimony punishable in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The draft amendments to the law on alimony of Kyrgyzstan were passed by the parliament committee for social affairs, healthcare, science, education, and culture on November 18.
Ata Meken faction member Aisuluu Mamashova presented the bill.
The bill suggests to punish for failure to pay alimony.
The bill also suggests to establish the size of alimony taking into account the child's subsistence minimum and impose travel ban on a parent for failure to pay alimony.
Alimony is a legal obligation on a person to provide financial support to their spouse before or after marital separation or divorce.
