Ex-MP convicted in Kazakhstan extradited to Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Former member of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Damirbek Asylbek uulu sentenced to 10 years in prison for smuggling and trans-boundary organized crime in Kazakhstan has been extradited to Kyrgyzstan, sources said.
He was brought to Kyrgyzstan on the night of November 19, sources said.
Damirbek Asylbek uulu and other 11 defendants were detained in a special operation in 2018 in south Kazakhstan.
The public prosecution said in November 2016 Asylbek uulu abused his power of an MP, set up the organized crime group, and headed the group for smuggling of consumer goods from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan and Russia.
The prosecutor asked 12 years in prison for Damirbek Asylbek uulu, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
