18 deals for $313 million signed at International Investment Forum Karakalpakstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The International Investment Forum Karakalpakstan was held in Nukus, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.
Companies from South Korea, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan partook in the two-day event.
18 agreements for $313 million were signed at the Forum.
The main goal of the Forum was establishment of production ventures and creation of new work places via attraction of foreign investors to the Aral Sea region, presentation of investment, export and tourism potential of the region.
A big investment potential of Karakalpakstan was noted at the Forum. The region hosts substantial mineral resources.
$140.3 million in foreign direct investments were attracted in 2019 in the framework of the regional investment program. Most of them came from China, South Korea, UK, Germany and Russia.
The participants of the Forum visited Nukus, Nukus, Kanlykul, Hojeili districts, where they visited big industrial companies. They also visited the exhibition of products made in Karakalpakstan.
