Saryarka gas pipeline to be completed Dec. 31 in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Vice Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Murat Zhurebekov during the government press conference spoke about the progress of the project of Saryarka gas pipeline construction along the Kyzylorda - Nur-Sultan route, the press service of the Prime Minister reports.
According to Zhurebekov, the first stage of the gas pipeline will allow delivering natural gas to the cities of Nur-Sultan, Karaganda, Temirtau, Zhezkazgan, as well as to residents of the settlements closest to the gas pipeline route.
To implement the project, the company AstanaGaz KMG was created. Its shareholders are Samruk-Kazyna Fund and Baiterek Holding.
The financing scheme and conditions were approved by the State Commission for the Modernization of the Economy in August 2018. 80.3 billion tenge were provided through the formation of the authorized capital of the project company AstanaGaz KMG JSC, 85 billion tenge are a bond loan of Unified National Pension Fund JSC and 102 billion tenge are a bond loan of the Eurasian Development Bank and Kazakhstan Development Bank JSC. The general contractor for the construction is KazStroyService.
Zhurebekov said that today the construction of the Saryarka gas pipeline to the city of Nur-Sultan is being completed.
"In general, work is proceeding on schedule, and in December of this year, the construction of all facilities will be completed, including a gas pipeline, five units of automated gas distribution stations, a gas metering station and a control point. The acceptance of the gas pipeline into operation is scheduled for Dec. 31, 2019," the Vice Minister said.
