AKIPRESS.COM - A ban on using smartphones in state bodies of Kazakhstan has been withdrawn, Informburo.kz reports.
The government approved the relevant resolution, Minister of Digital Development, Defense and Aerospace Industry Askar Zhumagaliyev said.
"The owners of the buildings, where state bodies are located, should sign the relevant instructions with the police and the civil servants will be able to use their smartphones in the buildings," he said.
According to him, the process of approval will take about a month.
A ban on using smartphones, tablets, smart watches in the buildings of state bodies was introduced in Kazakhstan in March 2016 due to the leakage of service information via messengers.
The civil servants have to use push-button phones after that.
Zhumagaliyev said that the issues of information security remain important and the civil servants and heads of state bodies will be accountable for preservation of service information.
