AKIPRESS.COM - The Collective Security Treaty Organization Summit in Bishkek on November 28 will address 18 issues, including international and regional issues, Tajik-Afghan border reinforcement, cooperation with UN in implementation of Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, coordination of foreign policy efforts of CSTO countries, defense capacity building, celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War Victory. The CSTO Summit will be attended by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. President Sooronbai Jeenbekov will preside at the summit.
The joint meeting of the Foreign Ministers Council, Defense Ministers Council, Committee of Security Council Secretaries will be held on November 27 where around 20 issues will be discussed.
The CSTO leaders are expected to sign the plan of joint actions in implementation of UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy for 2019-2021 that will support a close cooperation in improvement of the whole system to counter terrorist challenges and threats.
Russia will take over CSTO Chairmanship from Kyrgyzstan. President Putin is expected to outline Russia's priorities at the summit.
