Iron ore deposits discovered in Turkmenistan

AKIPRESS.COM - The major deposits of iron ore had been identified during the exploration works conducted on the territory of Balkan region, the Deputy Prime Minister Myratgeldi Meredov reported this to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Nov 22, the state Turkmen media report.
The President positively received the news and subsequently summoned Deputy Prime Minister overseeing transportation, communications and industry Bairamgeldi Ovezov and Deputy Prime Minister overseeing construction, energy and public utilities Charymyrat Purchekov to charge them with the task of "efficiently using the country's rich resources".
"The new manufacturing facilities based on the state-of-the-art technology needs to be set up in order to ensure the efficient exploration of identified mineral deposits," said President.
It should be noted that the deposits were identified three days after Berdimuhamedov had severely reprimanded officials overseeing the industry.
A similar situation has already occurred in Turkmenistan. In late November 2018, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded that the CEO of the state-run company "Turkmengeology" locate new mineral deposits. In January 2019, the fresh water aquifers as well as the mineral for the manufacturing of construction materials were discovered. In April 2019 the iron ore deposit was opened in Balkan region and in May - sulphur free natural gas deposits.
