Tyup district discusses role of women in local council polls

AKIPRESS.COM - Tyup district hosted a round table discussion on new draft law, that women will have 30% of mandates in local councils polls, Turmush reports. The meeting was attended by the members of the local council, public figure and civil activists.
"30% of the women who will receive mandates will be work on solving social issues. Many women do not about the changes in election law. We held this meeting in order to inform activists across the country on this issue. The meeting discussed the gender policy, equality, role of women in the society," said leader of one of the organizations Nasipkul Amanbayeva.
