2.5 million Kazakhstanis have no access to clean drinking water

AKIPRESS.COM - 2.5 million Kazakhstanis still have not access to the clean drinking water, the Astana TV channel reports.
Although, more than a trillion tenge have been spent for the Ak Bulak and Drinking Water programs.
In Pavlodar region, a water pipe has been built for 10th year. The water pipe had to provide 30 villages with water, however, the contractor failed to complete the project.
According to Senate member Kairat Kozhomzharov, the law enforcement bodies over the past three years revealed 102 criminal cases on the damage caused in water resourses worth 5 billion tenge.
30 people were convicted. Kozhomzharov said that only the Caspian and 4 rivers in the country out of 139 water facilities are considered clean.
Kazakhstan has not made a water raid for a half century. The Speaker Dariga Nazarbayeva offered to create a special body accountable for the water sphere.
