AKIPRESS.COM - 24 people in the Issyk-Kul region left of various religious movements, according to the forum against religious extremism and illegal migration.
The religious figures, representatives of local authorities and locals discussed the activities on countering religious extremism and illegal migration.
According to statistics, 36 cases of propagating religious extremism were registered in 11 months, 4 of them were aimed at incitement of ethnic hatred.
"4 people left Hizb ut-Tahrir extremism organization, as well as 29 people left Yakin Inkar organization after holding awareness raising campaign," said the head of Directorate of Internal Affairs Ulan Asanbayev.
53 people from the region left to Syria through Turkey since 2015, the law enforcement agency reports.
The people engaged in countering religious extremism were awarded honorary certificates at the end of the forum.
