South Korea to replace Ambassador to Mongolia after power abuse claims

AKIPRESS.COM - A new Ambassador of South Korea in Ulaanbaatar Lee Yo Hoon handed over credentials to President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga. At the meeting, the head of state presented the Korean Ambassador some business projects on formation of business proposals on agriculture and tourism based on the Korean know-how. In addition, the sides exchanged views on celebration of the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations andsupport of young businessmen.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea in May 2019 initiated the investigation against the main diplomat to Mongolia after he established a conspiracy with visa agent and abused his powers by harassing employees. After investigation, Ambassador Chung Jae-nam was recalled from Mongolia.
