AKIPRESS.COM - Representatives of the government of Kyrgyzstan said there was an inventory on forest reserves, but they did not clarify how many hecrates in each region, MP Aaly Karashev said.
The parliamentarian urged the government to pay a sufficient attention to this problem.
"I even know when these lands around the Issyk-Kul lake were sold and under whose leadership. First of all, they gave 50 som to an employee of the forest reserve for 1 ha. Then he was selling lands for $10,000 for 49 years as a sublease. These lands belong to the government," Karashev noted.
According to him, those who take on lease are allowed to build light constructions, but they occupy the territory with large buidings.
The environmentalists said that there are 18,000 ha of lands and 20 ha of forest reserves around the Issyk-Kul lake.
Deputy Director of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry Eldiyar Sheripov said that the forest reserve of Kyrgyzstan occupy 2,676,000 ha, including 23,289,000 are under lease. Leasing brings 55-60 million som to the budget, he noted.
