Population of Tajikistan projected to near 9.5 million in 2020

AKIPRESS.COM - Population of Tajikistan will reach 9.457 million next year, according to main macroeconomic forecasts of Tajikistan for 2018-2020, Avesta reports.
The population of Tajikistan grew by 2.2% over a year and reached 9.258 million people.
According to forecast, labor resources of the country are expected to reach 5.784 million in 2020. The number of employed citizens is projected at 2.715 million.
The government hopes to create 168,300 new work places next year.
