Over 30% of men and women suffer from obesity in Kyrgyzstan: Statistics

AKIPRESS.COM - The overweight and obesity prevalence among adults became more common than malnutrition, according to the report of the National Statistical Committee on living conditions in 2014-2018 released in November 2019. 39.4% of men and 32.6% of women from 18 to 49-years-old have overweight in 2018.
The obesity prevalence is observed in 9.1% of men and 12.4% of women.
The population of pre-retirement and retirement ages is prevailing among age groups with obesity prevalence.
