AKIPRESS.COM - The 1st Feminnale of Contemporary Art international exhibition will continue running in the National Fine Arts Museum in Bishkek, Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan Azamat Jamankulov told a press conference on December 3. The Minister said he was upset by the fact that the social opinions were divided into those winning and losing.
"Nobody won and nobody lost. We were against the idea of feminnale exhibition. The society is against the nude perfomance of women in the museum," he said.
"However, we are discussing the cooking pot and not talking about the soup inside," Jamankulov added.
The feminnale will continue its work, he said.
All ‘provocative objects' were removed yesterday. A special commission decided to take away the provocative objects, he noted.
However, the Minister refused to name the commission members.
Jamankulov believes that the social mentality should be taken into consideration while holding exhibitions.
