AKIPRESS.COM - A large-scale transportation of gasoline to Russia is one of the reasons for the planned increase of price for petroleum in Kazakhstan, the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Finance Alikhan Smailov said, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports.
There are two reasons for increasing price for oil products, he said.
"The costs for social sphere will increase in the next year. In particular, the project of the state budget envisages almost 6 trillion tenge to this sphere ($15.5 billion). Growth of excise duties in 2020 is one of the factors of increasing the income part. This will allow to collect a slight more than 50 billion tenge in addition ($129 million)," Smailov said at the government session.
At the same time, gasoline is cheapr in Kazakhstan than in Russia, he reminded.
If 1 liter of petroleum (AI-92) in Kazakhstan costs about 163 tenge, it is 260 tenge in Russia, he noted.
"A large-scale shipment of gasoline is observed to Russia. We had to take measures on restriction of export by automobile transport. Therefore, there is a slight rise of prices for petroleum, but this was to be done due to these two reasons," he said.
The price will be increased by 10 tenge.
The excise duty for petroleum will be increased by 2.5 times in Kazakhstan from January 2020.
