Kazakhstan imports not natural milk but its substitutes

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan does not import a natural milk, but various kinds of its substitutes, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Milk and Meat Union of Kazakhstan association Ivan Sauer said while commenting on import substitution and state subsidies for support of farmers.
According to him, Kazakhstan tries to produce the products that are noncompetitive. We make them cheaper by our own state subsidies to export them to our neighbors," Spurnik Kazakhstan cited Sauer.
"We export the cooled meat but import the frozen meat in brickets. Can we import a natural milk here? Of course, various substitutes are delivered here. And it is very good that we will replace everything here in the country. This is very proper approach," he said.
Prime Minister Askar Mamin earlier said that the country should be provided with all necessary socially important goods within 3-5 years and eliminate the dependence on import.
