11 patients undergo heart and liver surgeries in Osh as part of international conference

AKIPRESS.COM - Some 11 patients underwent heart and liver surgeries in November 2019 in the Osh regional hospital as part of the international conference dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the first heart operation with the artificial circulation, the Ministry of Health reports. The conference was attended by doctors from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Russia and China.
The goal of the event was development of cardiac surgery services in southern regions of Kyrgyzstan and increasing the access and quality of the professional cardiac surgery assistance for the population.
Three minimally invasive surgeries were performed in the framework of the conference.
Three patients underwent chemoembolization procedures.
The doctors also performed cardiac surgeries to 5 patients, whose condition is satisfactory today. Two of them were discharged home.
