‘Police did not use special equipment by my order’ - Tokayev comments on protests

AKIPRESS.COM - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the interview with the Deutsche Weller said that the police of Kazakhstan did not use any special equipment during the rallies at his order, Zakon.kz reported.
The head of state said that the Kazakhstanis are a power in the Interner and social media.
"On fact, Internet has rocked our life...I think, of course, this is a scientific and technical progress, which is impossible to stop," Tokayev said.
He added that nobody is punished for criticism on social media or participation in the one-man protest.
"Moreover, there were demonstrations, but police did not use a special equipment by my order. If there were arrests of provocators, it was carrying out by hands. On the contrary, police themselves were injured by protesters. About tens of policers were hospitalized. Look at how demonstrators are dispersed in Europe. They use special equipment, water jets, batoons. We see it on TV," Tokayev noted.
