Parliament of Kyrgyzstan reviews control over use of all tobacco products

AKIPRESS.COM - The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan on December 4 considered the first reading of the draft law on protection of health of citizens of Kyrgyzstan from the consequences of tobacco use and the affect of tobacco smoke.
MP Ainura Altybayeva (SDPK) told about the draft bill.
The new bill envisages creation of a 100% zone free from tobacco smoke - a full ban of smoking inside all buildings (in all public and working places on the territoriy of Kyrgyzstan, including the public transport and caterings), except for residential houses.
The bill also offers a control of using all kinds of tobacco products, including naswar, smoking tobacco through hookah, as well as electronic cigarettes.
The document provides a full ban of the tobacco ads and tobacco products.
Implementation of all measures offered by the bill in future will held reduce tobacco use by at least 30%, which will significantly decrease the level of mortality in Kyrgyzstan, Altybayeva noted.
