AKIPRESS.COM - The boilers in two schools in Jerge-Tal village, Ak-Tala district, Naryn region, are in unsafe condition, MP Almasbek Akmatov warned in Parliament today.
"If boilers break, schools will be closed. You know well how it is cold in winter time in Naryn. The Ministry of Emergency Situations and the State Inspectorate for Environmental and Technical Safety concluded the boilers may blow up. 504 and 102 children attend those schools. If boilers explode, who will be held accountable for their safety," Akmatov asked.
He said the local authorities asked help from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance, but in vain.
"They got one answer: they should maintain school buildings on their own and if they have no money, they should address the problem on their own. But rural municipalities live on 70-80% subsidies from the state," the MP stated.
