Mongolia to be on a level with Estonia within 5 years — E-Mongolia discussion

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga while speaking at the E-Mongolia discussion said that Mongolia ranks 62nd in the world competitiveness ranking based on 51 criteria. "Despite the laid foundations for digitalization, we do not use the information technologies. For example, only 24,000 out of 400,000 drivers used the digitalized system of tax payment for vehicles and this requires additional legal rules. However, the role of the private sector, universities, research centers and international organizations is important for achievement of the full digitalization, as the efforts of government organizations in this area will be useless," the President said.
There are about 10 countries that joined the public and private sectors in the field of digitalization. The experience of Estonia is the most applicable for Mongolia, Chief of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers L. Oyun-Erdene said.
"Thus, we plan to conclude a memorandum on cooperation with the government of Estonia for launching the 5-year digitalization program in Mongolia. In 5 years, we will be on a level with Estonia. In particular, about 90 percent of state services will get rid of bureaucracy," he noted.
