Kyrgyz artist creates caricatures for situation in Museum of Fine Arts

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyz artist Nurbek Nasyranbekov made caricatures for the situation with the Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiyev in Bishkek. He compares pictures of well-known artists of the last centuries - Picasso, Repin and Michelangelo - where nudity of characters are depicted.
A number of social media users in Kyrgyzstan recently criticised the nude performance in the museum as part of the feminnale exhibition. The Ministry of Culture removed Director of the museum from her post. After a public outcry, some of the items in the exhibition were removed over censor.
The exhibition organizers did not agree with these measures.
Nasyranbekov's words in his pictures are translated as "Is this an art? Look at the Great Art of the past! That was a real art then!"
