Bishkek discusses mechanisms of corruption countering

AKIPRESS.COM - The General Prosecutor Office held an international conference "Mechanisms of effective corruption countering, its elements and improvement" on Dec 6. The conference was attended by the practicing judges and prosecutors from France, Romania, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, representatives of the international organizations, universities of Kyrgyzstan, as well as employees of the General Prosecutor Office.
The Prosecutor General Otkurbek Jamshitov noted the necessity of the event, during which the participants studied the experience of the foreign colleagues and shared own information.
The foreign specialists presented the models on combating corruption, international experience in the anti-corruption reforms in the various countries.
"In addition, the results of cooperation to return the criminal assets and return of $4.6 million, which were illegally stolen during the presidency of former President Kurmanbek Bakiyev to the state treasury of the country were provided," the statement said.
