Human rights defender receives PRI Human Rights Award 2019

AKIPRESS.COM - Human rights defender Nazgul Turdubekova received Penal Reform International Human Rights Award 2019 at the national forum on human rights in criminal justice on occasion of the Human Rights Day. Nazgul Turdubekova was awarded for her contribution into institutionalization of children's and women's rights protection.
The national forum brought together representatives of Ombudsman's Office, National Center for Torture Prevention, Supreme Court, General Prosecutor's Office, international and non-governmental organizations, State Penitentiary Service, Interior Ministry and others.
The forum was held by the Ombudsman's Office, National Center for Torture Prevention, Penal Reform International with support of the European Union, UK Embassy, OSCE, UNHCR, UNODC, Canada Fund for Local Initiatives.
