AKIPRESS.COM - 43% of women in Kyrgyzstan experienced regular sexual harassment, according to the study conducted in 2019 by the Kyrgyz Association of Women Judges. 1.3% of women were raped by their co-workers, but no one was punished. 24.3% of women quit their jobs because of harassment by a manager, the study said.
78.8% of female students experienced sexual harassment during their studies. 6% of female students transferred to other universities because of the harassment.
Victims of harassment experience constant feeling of powerlessness (88%), humiliation (56.6%), guilt (50%), suicidal thoughts/attempts (28.9%), family issues (30%), loss of attention to the interests and education of children (61.9%).
