Technical Safety Inspectorate offers to resume tech inspection in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - The State Environmental Inspectorate for Technical Safety of Kyrgyzstan proposed to resume technical inspection of vehicles. Chief inspector of interregional management of the Inspectorate of Bishkek Kamel Sultanmuratov told a press conference today that the main reasons of air pollution is heating of houses by burning coal, car emission and others.
"We can apply tech inspection only to public transport vehicles that transport passengers and special vehicles. Other vehicles can undergo tech inspection on their own wish. Therefore, tech inspection should be resumed. The tech inspection was canceled in 2012," he said.
According to him, about 50% of the checked vehicles of transport companies in Bishkek do not correspond to the norms.
He also proposed to establish ecological posts.
